Sunshine and Art
Mrs. Maguet's class took advantage of the nice weather to go outside and paint. Art and fresh air, what could be better?

Some of our Wild Cats filling up the Wild Cat board.
When students earn 10 Wild Cat Cash coupons, they can write their name on the board and get an ice cream party with Mrs. Pruitt, or get a token for the prize tower. The cash is given for a plethora of positive actions. It means a lot to students to have their name on one or more times.

A good time was had by all at the 3rd grade track meet. We were happy to be using our umbrellas for shade instead of rain.
4th grade walked to the park and experienced different activities from the pioneers. They learned how to play stick pull, make a doll, sew on a button, weave, tall tales how to hammer in a nail, and how to make a buzz saw. Then they walked back to the school to learn how to line dance and make ice cream.
Our fourth graders in DLI had a great time at their track meet a couple weeks ago.

Mrs. Liechty's first grade class did some experiments with balloons! We did the spinning penny experiment, the bending water experiment, and inflating a balloon with baking soda and vinegar. Then we conducted a STEM project, in, groups, using only arn, a straw, a balloon, and a piece of take. The object was to get the balloon from one side of the room to the other only using those items. First, they planned what they were going to try. Then, they executed their plan. It was so much fun!
We had a beautiful celebration to honor our fabulous Librarian, Lisa Erickson. Lisa will retire at the end of this school year. She will be greatly missed by our entire Westside community.
