Effect of Slavery on the Civil War

Mrs. Herrmann’s Class has been learning about slavery and it’s effect on the Civil War. We learned about the cotton gin and how that invention actually required more slaves to pick cotton. Her students each had a cotton boll (yes, that’s how it’s spelled) and they were painstakingly ginning the cotton bolls by hand. It was quite a chore!
