Faculty Favorite Book Recommendations ~ Christmas Stories

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey is one of my favorite Christmas books. My sister gave me this book the first Christmas I was married (22 years ago), and it has been one of my favorite Christmas books ever since.   (Tish Throckmorton)

Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree I grew up having this story read to me and I just love it.  I read it to my kids when they were growing up.  I loves that it rhymes. I love that Christmas is made special for so many by sharing the tip of a Christmas Tree!   (Terri Hjorth)

Una Muñeca para el Día de Reyes  Santa never visited my house, or most of the houses with kids in Puerto Rico, so we needed to be patient and wait until January 6th to actually enjoy a "Christmas Present." This book explains how Christmas season in Puerto Rico is and that you get what you get for your present. I celebrate the Three Kings Days with my students and I just love they get to learn about my culture and also live it because they get a little something this day as well (a treat the Wise men leave for them at my house). (Alexandra Diaz)

Polar Express and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Theresa Olesen)

Olive, the Other Reindeer is funny. Moostletoe is also very funny. Dear Santa is about a kid that asks for everything for Christmas, but then realizes maybe it's just as much fun to give.  (Shea Wimmer)
