Visiting Professor in Sixth Grade

Submitted by lindsey.smith on

On Tuesday several sixth grade classes at Westside were fortunate to have a guest lecturer, Dr. Allphin, a professor at Brigham Young University, come and present about ecology. One of the sixth grade science strands is ecosystems, so hearing from Dr. Allphin was the perfect segue into the new unit. The students learned about ecological relationships, the food chain, and the role the environment plays in the food chain.

Last week our fabulous fifth graders put on a patriotic program for the school, and later for their parents. The kids talked and sang songs about America, what it means to be an American, and how blessed we are to live in this country. Awesome job fifth graders!
