Perfect Attendance

Submitted by lindsey.smith on

We love having all of our students here at Westside, and today, we celebrated with a perfect attendance party for all of those who were here each day during the first term. The kids who attended spent some time with Mrs. Robbins, one of the technicians at our school, playing games. Great job to all of those kids, and we'd love to see even more kids with perfect attendance for term 2!

Fourth Grade Studies Fossils

The fourth graders had a wonderful time exploring fossils today with the Natural History Museum of Utah: Museum on the Move program.  They got to be real scientists as they observed, asked questions, and made inferences about different fossils.

On this great election day many people are getting out and letting their voice be heard at the ballots. At Westside, many of the kids are getting involved too! Classes are discussing election procedures and the importance of voting, and some classes are having mock elections as well.

On Halloween, Westside will be holding a parade on the grassy field, behind the school, from 1:30-2:30. All are welcome to attend. You do not need to sign in, but if you choose to take your child home after the parade please sign out your students in your student's classroom.

Students are invited to come to school on Monday dressed in their costume. If students choose to wear a mask, it may only be worn during the parade.

On September 30th the 4th grade attended the Utah Symphony at Maple Mountain High School.  They enjoyed the soothing sounds of music from various composers.  The conductor focused on beats per measure and showed how different beats give character to songs.
