No School January 14 or January 17

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

No school for students on January 14. Friday is a Professional Development Day for all teachers . To prepare for our K-5th grade Professional Learning Day on January 14, teachers had to complete work prior to this day which involved reading, watching training videos, learning how to assess student phonological knowledge, then assessing three students. The power of our professional learning this year through LETRS is that we are all learning together for the benefit of students.

Three Kings Day with Sra. Salmeron's Classes

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

Sra Salmeron's classes celebrated Three Kings Day. The day before, they made paper shoes, managed to find grass for the camels and left them under our Christmas tree. On Three Kings Day, the grass was gone and instead they got a surprise. They also made wise men from toilet paper rolls. It’s good to learn new traditions and celebrate diversity.

Frim our PTA:

"The Westside PTA is sponsoring our very first Wildcat Art Show, coming up next month! Information/submission forms were sent home with students a few weeks ago, but just in case you didn't get it or need a new one, the form is attached to this post.

We'll be accepting submissions in the front office Jan.3-7 and all artwork will be displayed at the school on Jan. 13, the same day as SEPs.  We are so excited to give our Wildcat artists a chance to shine!

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
