Fifth Grade Engineers
We're excited to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and Read Across America Week this month! We continue to focus on improving our reading skills and invite students to participate in our dress up days next week.
Ms. Price's class had the opportunity to take a virtual field trip of the State Capitol building. It was a great experience. They learned about the history of the Capitol and saw some amazing rooms. They even got to do a question/answer session with Representative Thurston at the end. However, Ms. Price thinks having sack lunches in the classroom was their favorite thing.
The winner last week was Mrs. Boyer's 4th Grade Spanish DLI Green Class.
In library, Ms. Mesinar is sharing stories and books about influential Americans of color to help our school celebrate Black History Month.
The 5th Grade Kindness Squad visited classrooms last week to read a story about kindness and explain their February activity. Each teacher received kindness notes for their students to fill out when they receive an act of kindness. The teachers then return the notes to the kindness squad to be posted in the hall.
In Mrs. Lane's class, we talked about gossip and how it can spread and hurt our feelings and others. We passed glitter from person to person trying to make sure none was left on anyone’s hands and there was no glitter on the floors. We tried to pick up our gossip and rumors that we spread. Not only were students not able to get it off of their hands, but in the process of trying, they got it on their desks, their clothes, in their hair, on the floor, and pretty much everywhere else imaginable. It was an amazing community building activity!
Kindergarten celebrated the 100th day of Kindergarten! They were really into character and excited about all the "100" activities they did.
