May the 4th
Mrs. Crozier's class celebrated "May the 4th" day. They did graphing, word searches, math activities, and a Darth Vader art project. The kiddos loved it!
After School Art Club

Springville Museum of Art
A rep from the SMOA came to teach of kids about art and gave an intro lesson into figure drawing. Mrs. Mcferren's kids loved it!

Game time fun! We took a break from testing and did some inside recess games. Building and Sorry are 2 of the favorites in Mrs. Crozier's class!
Westside Octothorpe Award (AKA Hashtag Award)
Deanna Herrmann was the first to receive the Westside Octothorpe Award for submitting posts for for social media. Susan Crook was our second recipient. We appreciate them sharing their class activities with our Westside community!
Art Talks
Several of our classes were fortunate to have the Springville Art Museum Outreach Educators come to talk to us about the museum, art, and how to draw figures. Mrs. Hermann's and Mrs. Haymond's students posed and their partners sketched them. Everyone loved the experience!
Lisa Erickson
Lisa Erickson had two honors this week. She received the Classified Employee of the Year, award by her colleagues. She was also honored at the Nebo Retirement Luncheon today.
"La Goliza"
"La goliza" is the title of a realistic fiction story, written by Francisco Hinojosa. Francisco Hinojosa was a poet, narrator and Mexican editor, a renown figure in the Spanish Literature world. The 4th grade DLI class represented themselves by drawing symbols on their soccer jerseys. Students learned about soccer and the impact in the Latin culture.
