Earlier this year the 3rd - 6th grade classes participated in Westside's Got Talent, a talent showcase in Music class. Recently, several students, who had already performed for their classes, were asked to perform for the school. Everyone enjoyed all of their varied talents, from singing to dancing to piano playing. Great job Westside kids!
Westside fourth graders had a fun time learning what life was like as a pioneer during our pioneer day last Friday, May 11th. Students were able to make their own toys, learn to sew and hammer, and even make their own ice cream. Thank you to all of the parents who supported us in this fun activity - it wouldn't have been a success without you!
On Friday Ms. Alderks' fourth grade class presented a fabulous opera to Westside. In class they learned about the Japanese Internment of World War II, and decided to write an opera in tribute. They spent time writing the lyrics, which were then put to music, which was written just for them. They also designed costumes, created a set, and finally performed for students and parents. They put a lot of work into it and did a phenominal job!
