Westside Crystal Apple Award Goes to Mrs. McFerren

Jamie McFerren was Westside Elementary Crystal Apple recipient. Jamie makes class fun and theatrical.  She loves to laugh and it makes her fun to be around.  Jamie is a wonderful teacher and has great relationships with her students. They know she loves them. She is a naturally positive person and can find the good in most any situation. Jamie is genuine and knows where she stands on things so she can always be herself.

Mrs. Boyer's class read a Dr. Seuss classic, Bartholomew Cubbins and the Oobleck. They even tried their hand at making their own oobleck!

Student Led Conferences and Kindergarten SEP Sign Up

Student Led Conferences and Kindergarten SEP sign up will open Monday, March 9, at 8:00 a.m. 
 
Kindergarten teachers will be doing individual SEP's, but the rest of the school will be doing Student-Led SEP's so parents need to bring their student(s) with them. If you need more than the 10 minutes allotted for kindergarten SEP's or would like to meet with another grade level teacher individually please contact the teacher directly.

Student Book Recommendations for Read Across America

I really like Matilda because it's a page turner and I think Roald Dahl is a creative genius. Matilda is a very interesting book. 

Top 3 reasons I like Skinny Bones.
1. It's so funny!!!
2. Barbra Park is the author and she is also the author of the Junior B. Jones series which I also like.
3. I like sports and it has baseball in it which is cool.
