Kristin Dollarhide began her teaching career during the craziness of Covid. She was hired during the 2020-2021 school year to teach second grade online. Her first class consisted of 86 students! That experience wasn’t enough to scare her away and she joined our 2nd grade team at Westside for the 2021-2022 year.
Kristin is an amazing teacher! She truly cares about every single one of her students and is continually coming up with ways to help them to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. She is great at being intentional with her lessons so that each student is getting what they need to improve their learning. She often comes up with fun and creative ways to keep her students engaged. She has high expectations for her students and gets really excited for them when they meet those expectations in both learning and behavior. She has that magical blend of firm and fun and her students love taking part in the celebrations they earn by reaching their goals.
As a teammate, Kristin is willing to help anyone at any time, whether it’s making last minute morning copies for someone who needs to head to their duty or listening with empathy when someone needs to vent. Students, parents, and co-workers all benefit from her compassion. We are lucky to have her as a member of our Westside family.
