The Spanish Dual Language Immersion classes at Westside Elementary celebrated the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) Tuesday, November 2. They colored calaveras (skulls) and esqueletos (skeletons). Some students chose to make an ofrenda (altar) to honor a loved one who has passed away. They also enjoyed a traditional Mexican sweet bread called Pan de Muerto.
