District Dance Specialist Visits First Grade

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

Last week the 1st grade classes had the opportunity to have the district dance specialist, Rachel Marie Kimball, in our classes. She integrated dance into some lessons about language arts story structure, problem and solution, how to take turns, recognizing others feelings, and listening. We enjoyed learning through the art of dance! It was so much fun!

New Dictionaries? What?

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

The Springville Rotary club gave every third grader their very own dictionary. They were so excited. Not only did it have words and definitions, but a lot of other cool things like The Declaration of Independence, maps of the world, and sign language.

Kindness week in Fifth Grade - Day 6

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

To wrap-up Kindness Week Ms. Price's class decided to extend our kindness to someone in our community. We have a wonderful woman with a long term illness that lives in our community. We made a fun basket filled with goodies and made posters with positive quotes on them. Our wonderful principal, Mrs. Nielsen, delivered our basket and we were able to stand by her back fence and wave to her. Remember, you will never regret being kind.

Kindness Week in Fifth Grade - Day 5

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

In Ms. Price's fifth grade class they learned about the power of words. They discussed how words have the power to lift others up or the power to tear them down. Then one student was chosen at random and all her classmates wrote a kind word or something they liked about her around her on the whiteboard. We then watched the video, "The Power of Words". Remember,"Our words have power. They impact others, but they also impact us." - Michael Hyatt
