6th graders have been learning about the greenhouse effect and how the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere make our planet “just right” with less extreme heat and cold than other planets. They conducted an experiment where they checked the temperatures of two different bottles every minute, one closed and one opened, with a light shining down on them. Then they turned off the light and watched which one held the most heat. They learned that the closed bottle (simulating Earth’s atmosphere) held in heat longer than the open one, thus reinforcing their understanding of the greenhouse effect. #STEM
