Ms. Price's class did a Leprechaun Trap STEM project this week. The students first designed their traps. Their traps need to have six features that would attract a leprechaun and three different shapes. After designing their traps they wrote an opinion paper on why their trap was the best trap and why it would catch a leprechaun. Next, the students measured their traps, then compared their trap to another group's trap and then they did a line plot with all the traps' heights. Lastly the students built their trap! We had Mrs. Nielsen, Mrs. Arroyo, and Mrs. Rothaug judged the different traps. Group 5 won most creative, group 3 won most appealing, and group 1 won most likely to catch a leprechaun. The students worked really hard on their traps and everyone did an amazing job.
