We wanted to bring a small error on the art show submission form to your attention. The theme of the show is listed correctly at the top of the form, but it is not listed correctly in the section where students are asked to write their artist statement.
Our theme this year is: Building Our Best Selves
Please have your student refer to the theme listed at the top of the form when writing their statement.

If your students need assistance preparing an art piece for the upcoming art show, please join us this Wednesday, February 25th, and Friday, February 27th. We will be hosting an early morning art group both days starting at 8:45 AM in the PD room.
Amandine Loveland will be available to help students create collages that align with the show's theme. Students are more than welcome to bring any specific images or cutouts they would like to include in their work.
We look forward to working with your artists!

Janette Weakley, Westside Music Teacher here.
During the week of November 17-21 we will be having mini talent shows in music class. This is not a big event for parents to come watch, but an opportunity for the kids to perform for each other, and practice being a good audience at the same time.
If your child plays a musical instrument like the ukulele, flute or violin, etc. by all means, please encourage them to bring it. There is a small piano keyboard in my room and they can play that too. If they need sheet music, please have them bring it on the day they come to music class. (They should know when they come.) They are also welcome to use the classroom instruments as well.
Also, please remind them that each performance should only be about a minute or two long to allow others time to perform as well. I have been so impressed with the talents that show up during this special time in music class. We have amazing talented kids here at Westside!
