Balloon Launch (part 1)

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

The sixth graders launched their hot air balloons. They learned the engineering process as they designed and built a prototype, built a full size balloon and launched them. It was a great opportunity to reflect and decide what they would do different in the future.

Mrs. Crook's class wrote and illustrated children's books. They then were able to read them to two different first grade classes, Mrs. Holden and Mrs. Maguet's classes. It was so fun to see the sixth graders interacting so well with the first graders, and the first graders loved it!

“Quiet as a Mouse Day”

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

Mrs. Liechty's 1st grade class had a fun “Quiet As a Mouse Day!” We made headbands, puppets, mouse families out of our fingerprints and wrote about our families. Mrs. Liechty gave us a chance to share our story with the class. We also were as quiet as a mouse the whole day!

Pop Rock Adjectives

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

Mrs Liechty's class described Pop Rocks using adjectives. They described how they tasted, felt, sounded, and looked. Then they wrote about it. It was a fun way to expand our adjective vocabulary!
