Happy Thanksgiving to our Westside community!

We are on Thanksgiving Break from Nov 23 - 26. 

Mrs. Killpack, our student teacher, taught Mrs. Lane's class about weathering, erosion and depositions.

In Mrs. Lane's class, students learned how to play jacks and marbles for part of their Colonial Days activities.

Here are some additions to the Veterans Wall that parents and students provided.  Thank you to all who have served and now serve.

The fourth grade classes had a great time with the presenters from Loveland Living Planet Aquarium.  We learned about various adaptations of animals in Utah.  We even got to see some live reptiles and amphibians!  

Westside PTA had the opportunity to host the Springville/Mapleton Council meeting for November. With the help of Ms Nielsen, they recognized Megan Hess, who has served countless hours to do great things at the school! Thank you, Megan, for the good that you do. We appreciate you!

Mr. B (Bingham), our school counselor, was awarded the "PTA Service in Action Award" for the outstanding service he gives at Westside Elementary. Mr. B is kind and caring. He knows each of the students at Westside and goes out of his way to make them feel comfortable and welcome. As a matter of fact, he can be found each morning greeting the students as they arrive at school and saying goodbye as the students board the bus each night. Mr. B goes into classes and teaches lessons about Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and all the ways to be a good citizen.

Many of you were greeted by our Kindness Squad again today!  Thank you Mr. Hall, Mrs. Lane, and Ms. Price!
