Our fabulous Lunch Ladies are leaving to go to the new middle school. They will be missed by our entire community. They have over 50 years of combined service at Westside!
We are excited for our teachers that are moving to the new middle school along with our fifth and sixth grade students: Mrs. Crook, Mr. Lovell, and Mr. Park. They will all be missed.
We also say farewell to Mrs. Allred, Mr. Berger, Sra. Flores, Mrs. Herrmann, Ms. Loomis, and Mrs. McFerren. We will miss them and are thankful for their many wonderful contributions to our Westside community.
Mrs. Lane's class talked about dialogue. Each pair of students made up their own skit and then presented it to the class using their handmade props. It was amazing! Those kids are talented!
Congratulations to Mason Martin! He was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Road to Success for being one of the top readers in our district. Way to go Mason!
To celebrate "Chocolate Day," Ms. Harrison's students made solar ovens then placed the ingredients for S'mores into their ovens. They took them outside in the sun and watched their S'mores bake! It was a great science lesson and very tasty! The kids rated them 10 out of 10.
Ms. Harrison's 2nd grade class had a show-and-tell time and she brought her sons for her show-and-tell. They played the guitar for the class and shared how practicing has helped them to get better at playing. They also told us that it's important to keep trying if you make mistakes.
