I am a Teacher (#LoveTeaching Week)

Submitted by arlene.haymond on

Teaching school is an extremely difficult profession with many ups and downs. The reason I am a teacher is because of the relationships I make with these awesome students. They are each unique individuals with challenges, strengths and weaknesses, yet despite all this, they can learn, grow and excel. The part I love most is seeing their faces as they explore, discover and enjoy learning. Susan Crook

When students earn 10 Wildcat Cash (Respectful, Obey Rules, Appreciate, Responsible), they may exchange it for a token to use in our token tower, or write their name on the ROAR board. This month every student on the board received a special water bottle.  We are so proud of students that earn Wildcat Cash!

Our Westside Wildcats Heroes of the Week are: Tammi Ashcroft, Terri Hjorth, Kristy King, Michelle Mesinar, and Joyce Reesee! They are our Title 1 technicians. The main role of the Title 1 technicians at Westside is to provide support to teachers and students. In the younger grades, the teachers assign the technicians small groups of students to work with who need extra help in either math or reading.

The Aquarium's presentation reinforced science objectives to introduce concepts about tropical rainforests.
