Second graders created Christmas trees and wrote an opinion essay on why someone should should buy their tree. Second graders work on many forms of writing throughout the year. Opinion writing is one of the second grade Utah Language Arts Standards.

Mrs. Anderson's dual immersion classes did a Gingerbread STEM challenge where the teams each had a bin of stem building tools and had to make a gingerbread person.
(STEM refers to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM is about innovation, learning about the world, technical literacy, and problem solving.)
Our 4th grade Dual Immersion Class learned about the ecosystems in Utah. They really enjoyed the Ecosystem Box that the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum let them borrow while they learned more about animals who live in Utah's ecosystems.
