Chinese Acrobats visit Westside
On April 25th, students at Westside were entertained by the amazing Chinese Acrobats. These performers leave their homes for months at a time to travel around the world and share their talents.

On Earth Day, second grade students got the opportunity to learn more about taking care of our earth. They learned about why we should take care of our earth and how we can. Students also learned about plants and why they are important to us.
On April 17th, sixth grade students from Westside participated in the Hershey Track Meet at Springville High School. Sixth graders from other schools in Springville also participated. Seattul Call placed 4th in the softball throw, and Sage Bowers and Tyon Mattinson placed 6th in the 100 meter run. Students just enjoyed the day to cheer their peers on, and enjoy the sun.
Students who participate in the dual immersion program performed their program for the school recently. The students learned a variety of songs in Spanish, and several dances native to different countries
The fifth grade students at Westside recently performed their program for the school and for the parents and families. The program focuses on special events and music throughout United States history,- especially during the 1900's.
This week, students in the sixth grade are learning about heat. As part of the unit, they each made a mini solar house, and will learn about how radiation affects temperature inside the solar house with and without covering the windows.
Westside third graders recently performed their grade-level program. The program focuses on community and how we each are an important part of not only our community, but the world.
Sixth grade students at Westside recently visited Springville Junior High School to watch a production of Guys and Dolls. Afterward, the students walked back to school from the junior high.
On Thursday, March 6th, sixth grade students at Westside played a game of indoor soccer against their teachers. In the end, the teachers did prevail, however the students did keep it close!
