Congratulations Mr. Lovell!

Congratulations to our wonderful sixth grade teacher, Mr. Lovell, who won last week's Zion's Bank and KSL Teacher Feature! He was honored during an assembly with a plaque, and will be interviewed on KSL radio in the near future. We are so grateful to have such wonderful teachers at Westside, who do all they can to help our students succeed.  

Jr. High Choir

On Friday morning Westside enjoyed a visit from the Springville Jr. High Choir. They shared holiday songs and even gave Westside's students the opportunity to participate in one of their songs. Westside loved hearing from the choir and getting into the spirit of the season.

Netsmart Assembly

On Friday the kids of Westside had an assembly to learn about safe use of the internet. Kids are always encouraged to be careful with the information that they give, and who they interact with online and when using social media apps. Continue the conversation at home and talk with your children about safe internet use! 

American Heritage Assembly

Last Thursday Westside was treated to an American Heritage assembly, which taught a lot about Utah's history. Through music, photography, and storytelling the kids learned about the formation of the land, and the way the pioneers lived. The kids listened to songs and were also encouraged to participate and sing along as they learned.

Native American Dance Assembly

On Friday, Westside students and teachers had the opportunity to watch a wonderful assembly put on by a family from our school. The Groves family taught about Native American traditions, culture, and dress and did an incredible job of sharing their talents through music and dance.

Third Grade Program

On Thursday our third graders put on a fantastic program about countries and cultures around the world. They shared information and sang songs to teach about language, dress, food, and other ways that cultures show their individuality.
